Sheffield Lib Dems welcome Meadowhall expansion

The Sheffield Liberal Democrats have welcomed the new Meadowhall expansion and called on the Labour Council to support the proposals.

Meadowhall expansion

Following the news that a new £300m leisure complex will be built at Meadowhall creating a 1000 jobs, deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats on Sheffield City Council, Cllr. Penny Baker said:

"This is great news for Sheffield. It will be a huge boost for our city region and will mean more money is spent locally, rather than in Leeds and Manchester."

"We just hope the Labour Council will support this expansion, rather than waste tax payer money chasing investment and jobs away like they did with Next Home."
