Greg Mulholland joins Ming Campbell's shadow team

Lib Dem MP Greg Mulholland's campaigning has won him recognition from the top and landed him a job in Ming Campbell's shadow team.

The Leeds North West MP, whose constituency covers Otley, has been promoted to a shadow health minister position.

His role will include care for older people in the team led by shadow Health Secretary Norman Lamb. Mr Mulholland said: "I am delighted to be taking on a role in such an important area.

advertisement"I am passionate about health issues and this is an excellent opportunity to build on the work I have already done on key areas, such as hospital services, access to dentistry and retaining community health services.

"I look forward to working with my new colleagues and tackling the issues which matter so much to so many people."

The appointment comes after Mr Mulholland campaigned on plans for a dedicated children's and maternity hospital, and more access to NHS dentistry He also campaigned against removing facilities at the Wharfedale Community Hospital.
